Please note that, in terms of official Council committee business, the Leadership Advisory Panel, which was in place to make urgent decisions during the extended Easter Recess, agreed on 23 April 2020:
1) To reinstate the Policy and Sustainability Committee (with new terms of reference) from 1 May 2020 to 1 September 2020 whereupon the remit of the committee would revert back to its current terms.
2) To reinstate the Development Management Sub-Committee to consider major applications from 1 May 2020.
3) To reinstate the Governance, Risk and Best Value Committee from 9 June 2020.
4) To immediately suspend all other committee meetings (with the exception of the Pensions Committee) until 1 September 2020 at the latest with the option of reconvening committees earlier if practicable starting with the Finance and Resources Committee if the Chief Executive in consultation with Leader and Deputy Leader agrees that capacity can allow for this.

We are committed to providing you with an open and visible decision-making process. At many Council meetings we make decisions on issues which touch on local and city-wide concerns. Our webcasts allow you to see how we reach these decisions, without having to attend in person. Watch council debates online on the Council's webcast site.
The City of Edinburgh Council operates under a set of documents that govern and guide the decisions made by the Council and its officers and ensures that robust, clear and accountable organisational frameworks are in place. These are available for download from the Governance Document Library.
